This busy family in Rockingham near Bedford were working their way through their dated home to update and renovate each space. Starting with the kitchen, our designer helped them create the space of their dreams.
By removing the wall between the kitchen and formal dining room, we created a bright open new space. A U-shaped kitchen layout gave this space a much better flow. The dark oak doors came down and were replaced by clean white shaker style cabinets. Light quartz counters, an undermount sink and new appliances help to modernize the space.
A built in buffet with matching quartz and custom upholstered bench were added to the dinning room space. The tree-branch chandelier adds a soft sparkle to offset the cleaner modern lines of the kitchen. The cookbook rack on the side of the pantry makes use of an otherwise unused space. The unique charm of this kitchen really comes from the dark, textured tiles, reminiscent of Gaudi’s decorative sidewalks in Barcelona. The homeowner fell in love at first site and the rest of the design fell into place from there.
