This kitchen was cramped, closed-off, and extremely out-of-date. Our clients were looking to update their downtown Halifax home with an open-concept kitchen to unify the dining room and living space.
To open the sight-lines and increase the kitchen square footage, we incorporated a structural beam allowing us to remove the load-bearing wall closing the kitchen in. We worked closely with the clients to create an open galley style kitchen incorporating their design styles with dark wood cabinets and granite counter tops. We matched the original hardwood floors throughout the entire main level and created a beautiful stone feature wall to transition seamlessly from kitchen to dining room.
